Plastics Project Participant
GEMI is a leader in creating partnerships with other national and international groups, including non-governmental organizations, government agencies and other industry groups, to better understand critical environmental sustainability issues and promote cooperative solutions.
ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND (EDF)
GEMI partnered with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) to develop the GEMI-EDF Guide to Successful Corporate/NGO Partnerships. As social and environmental performance becomes increasingly important to the private sector and external stakeholders alike, some companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are benefiting from collaborating rather than clashing around “green issues.” The Guide seeks to educate the public and private sectors on the potential for positive environmental and economic success through collaboration between corporations and NGOs.
GEMI and EDF have also teamed up to scale adoption of a new solution tool, the EDF-GEMI Water Management Application (WaterMAPP) toolkit, building on a previous water efficiency collaboration between EDF and AT&T.
In addition, GEMI and EDF host webinars throughout the year for GEMI members on projects that EDF is working on, including those that GEMI members participate in such as the EDF Climate Corps program.
GEMI collaborated with IPIECA in the development of the GEMI Local Water Tool (LWT) for Oil & Gas. GEMI and IPIECA collaborate to support nomenclature, data continuity and software system compatibility between the GEMI Local Water Tool (LWT) for Oil & Gas and the IPIECA’s Global Water Tool for Oil & Gas.
GEMI and IPIECA work together to promote the two tools as mutually compatible and a provider of best practices for sustainable water management at the global, regional, national and local levels.
GEMI collaborated with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in the development of the GEMI Local Water Tool (LWT). GEMI and WBCSD collaborate to support nomenclature, data continuity and software system compatibility between the GEMI Local Water Tool (LWT) and the WBCSD’s Global Water Tool (GWT).
GEMI and WBCSD promote the LWT and GWT as mutually compatible and a provider of best practices for sustainable water management at the global, regional, national and local levels.
