Schlumberger hosts GEMI Spring Meeting
The Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI), a global leader in developing insights, networking and creating collaborative sustainability solutions for business, held its Spring Membership meeting in Houston, Texas on April 11-12, 2018. The meeting was hosted by GEMI member Schlumberger at its Sugar Land Technology Center.
GEMI provides a forum for global corporate environmental / sustainability thought leaders to learn from each other, develop collaborative solutions, and engage with strategic partners to advance solutions to emerging environmental and sustainability challenges. This meeting included facilitated workshop discussions with buyers, suppliers and data collectors regarding supply chain sustainability, in addition to sessions on the UN SDGs, circular economy and water risk assessment. The meeting included expert speakers from organizations such as Avangard Innovative, Coca-Cola, Dell, ISN, Gannett Fleming, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Schlumberger, Smithfield Foods, SupplyShift Trucost, US BCSD, UL Environment and Waste Management. The meeting also included a tour of Schlumberger’s Sugar Land Technology Center, including an on-site drilling rig and manufacturing operation.
